Since 2013, The City Waves has been offering a weekly home for 5Rhythms practice in San Francisco — a place to move, reconnect, and return to the body through rhythm.
We want this practice to remain both accessible and sustainable, which is why we offer a sliding scale, class packs, scholarships, and work-study opportunities.
Please choose the rate that feels honest and possible for you.
Drop-In Class
Standard · $35
Our regular class rate and the rate we invite most dancers to choose.
Supporter · $40
For those with greater financial ease who would like to help support broader access to the practice.
Community · $30
A reduced rate for dancers who need a more accessible option at this time.
Our regular class rate is $35. The Community Rate is available for dancers who need a more accessible option. If you have the capacity to give a little more, your generosity helps another dancer step onto the dance floor.

A simple way to experience your first 5Rhythms class with The City Waves.
New Student Intro Pass · 3 classes for $45
Valid for 21 days from first use
After your first class, give yourself a little more time to experience the practice. Returning allows the body to listen, explore, and discover more deeply. For dancers new to The City Waves.
Class Packs
Class packs are designed to reward regular practice and commitment, while making registration simpler and more convenient. If you know you’ll be returning, class packs offer a lower per-class rate while supporting continuity in your practice.
Class packs may be used for eligible regular 5Rhythms classes organized by The City Waves in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are not valid for workshops, retreats, master classes, or separately ticketed special events.

The Spirit of the Gratitude Jar Continues
Before online registration, we kept a Gratitude Jar at the entrance.
Anything offered beyond the class price helped another dancer participate.
That spirit continues.
The Supporter Rate and additional donations help us provide scholarships and reduced-rate access to weekly classes, workshops, and special programs.
If you have the capacity to give a little more, your generosity directly helps someone else participate.
And if cost is becoming a barrier for you, please talk to us.
We would much rather have a conversation and find a way forward than have someone quietly stop coming because of cost.
Work Study
We offer ongoing work-study opportunities for dancers who need additional financial support.
For many people, work study becomes more than a financial exchange. Helping with setup, pack-down, creative projects, and the life of the room can become another way of contributing, participating, and feeling more connected to the community.

Cancellation Policy
Please cancel at least 2 hours before class to have your class credit returned to your pack or pass.
Cancellations within 2 hours of class are considered late cancellations and may result in the loss of that class credit.
Drop-in purchases are non-refundable.
A Note About Payment
Prices shown are cash prices.
Electronic payments made through Momence are subject to payment-processing fees, which are calculated and displayed at checkout.
Prefer to avoid processing fees? Class packs may also be purchased with cash or Venmo, which do not include processing fees. Talk to us in person or contact us and we’ll help you arrange it.

Copy your personal referral link.
Send that link to your friend before they register.
Once they purchase an eligible New Student offer through that link, Momence applies the rewards automatically.
